Tourist attraction
Rainham Hall, a Queen Anne house built in 1729, is a significant example of 18th-century river trade. The hall, along with its associated buildings, served as a center for the merchant and ship captain John Harle's trading activities, contributing to the development of Rainham Village. A major restoration project, funded by grants including £1.46 million from the Heritage Lottery Fund, began in 2014 and is expected to be completed in 2015.
