Ambleside Roman Fort

The field is also occupied by cows so beware - one was very interested in a dog & was following it & its owner for a while

Good place to let dogs off the lead too but please pick up any mess they leave

Great place to run a dog and take in Roman ruins same time

It was on our to do list in ambleside not signed and only found it by asking local dog walkers

Used by locals as dog toilet watch where you step
