York's a historic city with cobbled streets and a grand cathedral. Walk your dog past ancient walls and along the River Ouse. Plenty of pubs welcome dogs, and the city's full of independent shops and cafes. Keep an eye out for the Shambles, a narrow street with leaning timber-framed buildings.
